[audio]Muddy Waters - Folk Singer - McKinley Morganfield
Muddy's "unplugged" album was cut in September of 1963 and still sounds fresh and vital today. It was Muddy simply returning to his original style on a plain acoustic guitar in a well-tuned room with Willie Dixon on string bass, Clifton James on drums, and Buddy Guy on second acoustic guitar. The nine tracks are divvied up between full rhythm section treatments with Buddy and Muddy as a duo and the final track, "Feel Like Going Home," which Waters approaches solo...

[audio]burning up - steven de poorter
my third album after 'child flavour flower remake' and 'the late not so great' was kind of a collection of demo's and songs that I thought were too good to get lost. This kind of led to an album wich is not as consistent and thematic as my first 2 albums. It's kind of an outtake collection. Again, it's lofi, but as always with me, it's the songs that matter. I think...

[audio]Instead of Gun Shopping - Wystan Whitman
These are bedroom recordings, bare acoustic guitar and voice. These are bedroom recordings, yet the performance is perfectly tensed, vast, arresting. Beside what’s immediately audible you can also hear a rapt audience filling a room. As a whole, the album feels wintry and faintly smoky, like Wystan Whitman is filling you in on current events while he stirs a slowly cooking stew. This one leaves plenty for leftovers and re-listens.
